Essential Oil Series post #8: How do I know which Essential Oil I should use?

If you search the web, you will find many essential oils (EO) listed to help with any given topic. Each essential oil may indeed serve several purposes. The key is to pick which EOs are best for helping you and your family. For example, per the NAHA, Peppermint EO may relieve nausea, muscular aches and pains, relieve/reduce migraines, and be energizing, but Peppermint EO should be used with caution and should not be used topically on infants and children.

As you research and find EO recipes, be sure to always compare and adhere to the safety guidelines found on the NAHA website. Your EO provider, certified aromatherapist, and/or medical provider can help you adjust a recipe to the proper dilution and suggest which essential oils to try for your specific concerns.
